Data Dogs - Evidence Based Dog Training
Data Driven Training
Welcome to Data Dogs! I'm William Flower, an engineer and data scientist. I use your dog's behavior data to create a personalized training program. I support you at home or in your local park, with no travel or group classes—just you, me, and your dog.
Using data helps us find the least intrusive and most effective interventions. This approach reduces the chance of negative side effects and respects the learner's autonomy, dignity, and rights.
My training focuses on holistically teaching and appreciating real-life, practical canine skills and using those skill in everyday situations, so that a dog is a well-behaved member of a household and a welcome part of society.
Data provides a technically sound plan that is designed to make problem behavior irrelevant, inefficient, and ineffective while creating an alternative behavior that provides the same, or more reinforcement.
If you have questions you can send me a chat or contact me by phone or email.
Training Approach
As your trainer, it is my responsibility to create an effective and efficient behavior change plan that supports your training goals and help make them real. With problem behaviors the best first step is for me to simply spend time with your companion and change their physical and social environment and allow them to learn new skills that make the problem less likely to occur.
Next, based on our observations you will be guided through a series of questions on your companion’s behavior. With your results and goals I generate a custom dashboard that will pinpoint problem behaviors and keep you progressing.
Have multiple other caregiver’s in your companion’s life? Don’t worry, I can combine multiple surveys to create a composite of everyone’s observations and compare individual results.
